In the early hours of May 13, 2014, the Morris County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a robbery involving suspects armed with firearms.
Deputy Ken Thomas responded, and, during the course of his investigation determined that a Mount Pleasant resident was lured to a remote location under false pretenses, struck multiple times in the head with the butt of a firearm, forced to undress and robbed of his personal items.
Deputy Thomas quickly identified the four suspects involved in the crime as Edwin Carl DeLeon, 31, Dekedrick Tramaine Huey, 24 and Nikki Leanna Gill, all of Naples and Destiny Paige Carpenter, 23, of Omaha.
Deputy Thomas was able to locate two of the suspects within a short period of time and placed them under arrest. Warrants of arrest for the other two suspects were issued and a third suspect has been apprehended.
Edwin Carl DeLeon, also known as Eddie DeLeon or “Ed-Dog”, remains at large. All four suspects are being charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and engaging in organized criminal activity.
Both charges are a felony in the first degree and are punishable by a prison term of 5-99 years or a life sentence. The charge also carries a fine not to exceed $10,000.
